Academic and non academic competitions are an integral part of student life. Such competitions play an important role in motivating students to perform and excel and offer a lot more reward than just winning the prize. Competitions offer a chance to the participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes, discover personal aptitude, adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills. MVN organizes a number of Inter and Intra School Competitions that help students in the entire learning and growing up process.
Model United Nations (MUN) is a student simulation of the proceedings of the United Nations. Much like the real UN, the goal is to identify solutions, by negotiation and consensus, on which many countries can agree.
The 3rd INNERVE MUN held on the virtual platform Zoom for the first time, saw 150 contestants across NCR participate in the event. The Innerve MUN 3.0 2021, marked its beginning with a solemn opening ceremony on 1.10.2021 with lightening of lamp to invoke the blessings of the Lord Ganesha followed by a mellifluous rendition of a song sung by students of MVN. Ansh Semwal (Secretary General) Paras Boora (Deputy Secretary General) Sahil Batra (Director General) extended a warm welcome to the audience. The Model United Nations took place over a span of two days, 1st and 2nd of October 2021. The two-day session consisted of six committees namely -UNGA, AIPPM, UNHRC, Harry Potter, and IPC. Each Committee witnessed mass participation of students from classes VII to XII.
Delegates at INNERVE stepped into the shoes of UN ambassadors to draft resolutions, to plot strategy, to negotiate with allies as well as adversaries. Attending INNERVE MUN helped them in building knowledge, skills and relationships needed to build a better global future. Closing ceremony began with exemplary mime dance performance followed by award ceremony where delegates of each committee were awarded for their laudable speeches. The conference concluded with Principal's address in which she highlighted that participation in MUN is meant to develop leadership skills, public speaking, problem-solving skills as well as foster negotiation, critical thinking and teamwork in students.

Literature is one of the most interesting and significant expressions of humanity. It is in literature that the concrete outlook of humanity receives its expression. Modern Vidya Niketan, Sector 17 hosted this inherent creativity, imagination, artistic expression and ingenuity by organizing Literary Fest- REVERIE - REVERBERATIONS OF LIFE in which more than 50 schools across NCR participated.
Prose, Poetry, Fiction and Non-Fiction Stories, Anecdotes, Travelogues, etc. represent myriad of ways of expressing this creativity and fostering literary, sensibilities. To these traditional asseverations a number of modern expressions were added and traditional Literary events were recreated as storytelling through puppetry, recreating classic dramas through monologues, dialogues and soliloquies, classical poetry had reinvented itself in the form of slam poetry and the advent of technology had transformed travelogues into vlogs.
The invigorating participation from contestants across all classes was mesmerizingly witnessed by the judges. Fairies danced on the virtual stage in Fable Fiesta showcased by pre-nursery ,Nursery kids excelled in music through lyrical limerick , KG students sang rhymes in their angelic voices, class 1 told the life-long lessons through Guruvani, Indian epics were retold by class 2 students, Bhakti Shlokas were sung by Class 3 students, Spell bee for word nerds of classes 4 and 5,Classes 6 and 7 rapped up the world in Rap-Battle, Verse Slam was conducted for class 8, Shakespeare's Spoofs were the crowd puller that featured the most rib-tickling spoofs by class 9,10 students. The Soliloquies were awe-inspiring, with some incredible talents being spot lit.
Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge. The pursuit of science and scientific endeavours supplements imagination and creativity which when applied to scientific principles paves the way for budding visionary dreamers and scientists. Keeping this fact in mind MVN organised the Second Edition of SCIFEST 2020 – A Virtual Inter - School Competition in pursuit of scientific knowledge for young science enthusiasts to not only promote scientific thinking through ingenious creativity, interactive presentations and improvisation of science kits and devices but also to sharpen and augment the skills of presentation and communication. The event hosted different themes for Classes I - XII. Camouflaging tactics by young buds of Grade l & ll students under the category Masquerade was incredible. The curious eyes of lll & lV standard employed their mechanical minds to make eco-friendly toys. The creativity and innovative ideas by V & Vl standard students under the category of Model making were extraordinary. The projects of sustainable housing society in the Sustainable Symposium category of Class Vll & Vlll students were not only modern but also practically efficient and affordable for common people. The technical skills of lX & X standard students reflected as if we are ready for the 22nd century. The intelligent computing by Class Xl & Xll students, surpassed the capacity of professional experts of Artificial intelligence. The participants of different schools, found the tasks given to them insightful and illuminated their ideas and skills. More than 30 esteemed institutions from Delhi & NCR participated in this event and made this endeavour a huge success.
Parliament of the country is the repository of the sovereign will of the people, and its successful functioning is a joint responsibility of both the government and the Opposition.
Future leaders got their first taste of governance at Crucible – The Confluence of Ideas, an e-Model Parliamentary session organized at MVN, Sector-17. It is an initiative to provide a simulated environment to students. Employing this platform, traits like discipline, confidence, logical reasoning and analytical thinking are ingrained in them. It’s a juncture where in participants envision the reality of being proficient to emanate and decipher important issues of the country. The Crucible is an avalanche of opinions and ideas.
Students from MVN-17, MVN-88, MVN-ARAVALI HILLS and MVN-PALWAL participated in the event. It successfully achieved its objectives of developing an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.
Modern Vidya Niketan, Sector – 17, Faridabad, organized their maiden MUN edition on 27-28 October 2017. The Honourable Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, Dr. Hanif Quereshi, graced the occasion and addressed an august gathering. Rohan Jain of Class - XII, the Secretary General INNERVE MUN Society and Mehul Sehgal of Class -XI the Director General along with their effervescent team left no stone unturned in organizing & co-ordinating it to their best. Innerve MUN hosted five committees – UNGA, UNHR, UNSC, the Historical Committee of Special Meeting by Prime Minister and The International Press covered ‘the confluence’. Many eminent persons from various fields held deliberations stimulating the young minds with their enriching experiences. On October 28, the valedictory ceremony saw Ryan International School walking away with Best School Delegation Trophy.
The Annual cultural fest “MIRAS” was held on 11th November 2017 at Modern Vidya Niketan Sec – 17 Faridabad. This year the objective was yet again keeping the young generation deeply rooted to their rich heritage, as the leitmotif “MIRAS” depicts. Several reputed schools in the city enthusiastically came forward to participate in this inter–school meet based on the concept of nine ‘RASAS’ namely love (Shrinagar), Humour or Laughter (Hasya), Wonder and Amazement (Adbhut), Peace (Shanta), Anger (Rudra), Courage and Heroism (Veera), Compassion and Pity (Karuna), Fear (Bhayanaka) and Disgust (Vibhatsa). All venues were decorated based on their specific themes.
The children enjoyed themselves thoroughly as they showcased their talents in all the four levels of the competition. The participating teams beautifully depicted the emotion allotted to them through their creative expressions in the form of group dance, play, self composed song with narration or ‘gatha’ street art (graffiti) and epified/epigram: narration with sketch. And they were well scrutinised by an illustrious bench of Jury.
Eicher School Faridabad bagged the overall trophy. The annual cultural fest – MIRAS was a grand success in its endeavour to rejuvenate the glorious Indian tradition.
To foster and propagate scientific temper and outlook Modern Vidya Niketan, Sector-17, Faridabad organised SCIFEST 2019, an Inter-school competition on 9th November, 2019 in the school premises. More than 25 leading schools of Faridabad participated in this mega event making it a resounding success. The event witnessed a very enthusiastic participation of about 400 students from Classes III - XII in 8 categories of events such as Sci-Show - Magic Show, Experiventions-Scientific Investigations. Medkit-Doctor in Kitchen, Sci craft-movie making, Mission-MIS-vision, Climate Conclave, Curate 'a' Solution - Model Making. The guest of honour of the event, Mrs. Santosh Sharma, Chancellor MVN University and Mr. J.P Gaur, Director MVN Schools, presided over the function. Besides 8 competitive categories, a futuristic workshop was conducted on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
The Modern Vidya Niketan family pledges to uphold the legacy of Sh. Gopal Sharma (Founder) in pursuit of excellence and a holistic approach to education. We commemorate his death anniversary every year by organizing Prerna – The light of inspiration, an event that redeems the values and principles of our revered mentor, initiated in the year 2006 with the active participation of MVN Family. This inter-school meet helps to foster better understanding and develops cordial relationship amongst various schools in Faridabad, NCR & Delhi.
