Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) is the national level test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is conducted for B.E/B. Tech admissions at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is for IIT admissions. JEE Main exam has two papers JEE Main Paper-1 & Paper-2. JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted for B. Arch. and B. Plan. admissions. The exam patterns for JEE Main Paper-1 and Paper-2 are different.

JEE Advanced is the exam for admissions to B. Tech. Integrated MSc. and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the 23 IITs of the country. . JEE Advanced exam is jointly organized by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee. Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani conducts BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) for admission into various courses. BITS Pilani conducts the BITSAT exam in the online mode of three hours duration, comprising of 150 multiple choice questions divided into four parts.
