Tree plantation drive

Trees are very important to us in many ways. We cannot think of our existence without trees. Trees provide us with many food items, they prevent soil erosion and many kinds of medicines are prepared from trees. Above all, they help us to maintain ecological balance by supplying oxygen. Trees and forests are not sufficient in proportion to our total land area. To preserve our environment, we should plant more and more trees. To encourage the students and aware them about the importance of trees, MVN Sector 17 organized a ‘Tree Plantation Programme’ on 4th April, 2016. The school chose school gardens and Huda Parks of Sector 17. Around 300 saplings of lemon, mango, neem, chickoo and various floral plants were planted on this day. Teachers, students and support staff of the school were also present. The drive was special as it was a part of sesquicentennial celebrations. Students were led by their teachers and they enjoyed the experience. Such genuine concern for the environment is amazing. Team of the EcoFriends was congratulated by the school Principal. This was a great opportunity to bring the children out of the school and acquaint them with the natural life.
