In the present scenario, mental health of school students is of prime importance for their holistic growth and development. The school counsellor is an integral part of school ecosystem who provides help and guidance to all students for their overall well being. The counsellor works through early identification and timely intervention of students' behavioural, emotional and social problems. The counsellor caters to the psychological needs of students from class KG to Class XII.
The counselling is offered as preventive, remedial and responsive measure for range of issues that the students face on a daily basis. There are three basic domains where the counsellor helps students.
Academic Development: Students are counselled and guided for various study skills including time management, increasing attention span, concentration, handling stress and competition etc. Special care is provided for slow learners and students with various intellectual limitations regularly.
Personal and social development: Students are counselled on personality development and various life skills including problem solving, interpersonal relationships, communication, goal setting, failure management, adolescent issues, values and morals through regular interactions.
Career development: The counsellor takes regular class sessions to help students of higher classes develop understanding about various careers, their own interests and abilities and make a responsible choice.

One of the major role of the counsellor is orienting parents about good parenting skills. Through regular counsellor - parent meeting, parents of nursery to class XII are guided on different issues.
With the objective to build a safe learning environment for our students, a Child Protection Committee is constituted in the school with the school counsellor as convenor. The counsellor organizes many activities for spreading awareness about safety. There is a special program for girls of class V, VI, VII, and VIII named G.I.R.L.S. Growing up Responsibly In Real Life Situations in which the counsellor orients girls about sex education, gender sensitivity, and safety related issues. Assemblies are organized regularly on Safety concern with street plays, poster making and group discussions to reinforce the learning.
