SAFETY WORKSHOP Students’ safety is the number one priority of MVN School. Providing a safe and secure environment promotes social and creative learning. It provides space to explore learn and grow. In keeping with the safety standards of the school, a safety workshop was conducted in the school by OTIS for the students of grade IV – VIII.
The resource person for the day was Mr. Amit Ahuja. The children were guided about the do’s and dont’s while using elevators and escalators in order to prevent accidents. It was an interactive session where the children gathered a lot of information. The session ended with a short quiz. Prizes were given to the winner.
A mathematics workshop was conducted for the students of grade VII by Ms Rishi Gupta (Assistant Prof., MVN University). The topic taken for the session was Ratio and Proportion. It was an interactive and interesting session for the students. It aimed at helping the children to learn different topics in a simple way and also build in them the ability to appreciate the power and beauty of the subject by practical application.
On the occasion of EARTH DAY a presentation on “Synthetic fibers and plastics” was given by Mr. Mohit Sardana assistant professor at MVN University.
The presentation discussed about variety of plastics and synthetic fibers and their utility in day-to-day life. Stress was laid on the fact that despite of their enormous utility, synthetic polymers are bad for environment. They are non-biodegradable and thus cause pollution. Also studies have shown that having food in plastic utensils can cause cancer.
The students enjoyed the session and interacted enthusiastically with Mr. Sardana in this chemistry seminar.
A workshop on Cyber Awareness was presented by Ms. Babita Yadav from MVN University on 23rd April’ 19 for classes IV and V. The objective was to educate and create awareness amongst the student on use of technology, internet and media to avoid getting victimized for a cyber crime. The students were made aware about the preventive measure to be taken to avoid virus attacks and avoid sharing personal details to anyone on internet. Some important points to be remembered while using social media are: Rule 1: Nothing comes for free. Rule 2: Never click on any link giving lucrative offers. Rule 3: Bullying on social media is also a crime. Overall, the workshop was very informative and children interacted well during the workshop.
