“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” ― Abraham Lincoln
Words have the power to change a human being. At the very beginning of the school session, to motivate the students of Class IX-X, MVN Sector-17 organised a dialogue with one of the well-known motivational speaker as well as advocate of the Supreme Court, Shri Ashok Arora. As a Film Maker, Author, Activist as well as the Former Secretary Supreme Court Bar Association, his achievements are innumerable and he seems a being of a superior kind, however, he is very humble in nature. Encouraging the students to be active in the dialogue, he said he liked having “Gup-Shup” with people. He stressed on the very essence of being happy in life. He asked students what makes them not feel happy, and worked out the causes of unhappiness. He stressed on avoiding complexes in life, whether inferior or superior. The students interacted with enthusiasm and added to his points. He made the students pledge that they will be the masters of their own happiness, and said that this was the key to happiness. Larger expectations only make us long for more, and we get unhappy if we don’t get what we expected for. One must have aspirations in life, and work hard towards them, but should be ready to move on if he or she cannot fulfill them. He shared his email id and assured them that their ‘dost’ would always be available to hear from them. He then rewarded students with some books he has published to contribute to the school library. His motivational speech brought a new enthusiasm to the students.
